- Strong Revenue Basis: In acquiring Kentucky-based Somerset Oil, US Bio-Tec has substantially increased its revenue base. Somerset garnered more than $70 million in revenues for 2005, and is on pace to generate over $88 million in 2006. Gross profits are on pace to reach roughly $6.36 million this year, and projected to total more than $8 million in 2007. This acquisition will help add to the US Bio-Tec's bottom line, and will also help fund its ongoing efforts to develop environmentally responsible alternatives to fossil fuel.
- Alternative Fuels: Oil production is in decline in 33 of the 48 largest oil producing countries (Source: Worldwatch Institute), but energy demand is increasing around the globe, and by 2020, some predict that the world's energy consumption will be 40% higher than it is today (Source: World Energy Outlook 2004). The total global oil and gas consumption is 127.8 million barrels per day, or 1,480 barrels per second (Source: OPEC.org). US Bio-Tec is committed to developing new renewable alternatives to the ultimately untenable dependence on fossil fuels. As an alternative fuel brokerage, the company has plans to sell 7.6 million gallons of bio diesel per month, and as much as 200 million gallons of ethanol per year.
- Track Record of Stability: In bringing Somerset Oil into the fold, US Bio-Tec is adding a company with remarkable stability. The average Somerset employee has more than 24 years of service with the company, and Somerset has nearly 80 years of continuous operations. With revenues of $70.06 million in 2005, performance has continued to be strong, and through 11 months of 2006 revenues have already reached $81.04 million, on pace to exceed last year's total by more than 26%. As long term demand for fossil fuels continues to rise and demand is limited, there is every reason to expect that this will continue to be a very profitable sector for the foreseeable future.
