Universal Detection Technology (undt.ob)
Homeland Security
- Pressing Demand: On March 16, 2006, the White House released its National Security Strategy (NSS), in which the express purpose was to ensure the fulfillment of its most solemn obligation: to protect the security of the American people. As a result of this commitment, tens of billions of dollars have been allotted to various aspects of the Homeland Security sector, spelling huge potential rewards for the companies in position to efficiently and effectively service the nation's security needs. Universal Detection Technology has continued to develop advanced solutions with such partners as NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratories to meet the heavy demands as the Department of Homeland Security continues to fund anti-bioterrorism devices for municipalities, counties, states, and federal agencies.
- Global Application: The current environment is filled with threats of attacks with weapons of mass destruction with biological warfare agents being among top fears. In 2004 a study done by researchers at the Johns Hopkins University concluded that early detection, and not pre-exposure vaccination, is the key to limiting an outbreak of anthrax. It is only prudent to be proactive, and this applies not only at home but also abroad. It is not only U.S. citizens who need protection from international terrorism, and Universal Detection Technology has partners across the globe, including those who distribute the Company's products and technologies in Italy, the Middle East, China, and Singapore.
- Making Moves: The benefits and innovative solutions of Universal Detection Technology have sparked interest both domestically and abroad. Universal Detection Technology recently announced that the patent for the Company's Anthrax Detection technology used in its BSM-2000 system was granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). In December of 2007, the Company announced that it had received a new purchase order from Security Solutions International (SSI) for UDTT's anthrax detection kits. Also in December, the Company announced that it had received an order from Gulf Security Solutions (GSS) to supply counter-WMD education, training and products. Since the first of the year, Universal Detection has continued developing relationships, and announced in April 2008 that its line of Anti-Microbial Products, approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in February, was recently chosen by Princeton University staff to protect against MRSA outbreaks in gyms and locker rooms, and the Company has received a purchase order for anti-MRSA products as well as bioterrorism detection kits from its Chinese distributor. The purchase orders have been placed by Kadinuo Science and Technology in Beijing, China.
